Organ-Ex tested in Seawater

This test was conducted to test efficiency of the new MICRON Organ-EX Polymer against other competing brands in a seawater system.

Test Conditions :

2 aquariums were specially constructed with white silicone on the base and back in order to better high-light the dissolved organic waste inside the aquarium. They were housed on a custom built stand as to allow time lapse photography. Cool White Light tubes were also used to assist in enhancing the visual effects of the organic waste inside the tanks. Organic Waste to Foul Water I had intended using iodine for the test, but, iodine’s particles are rather uniform in size. Detritus and organic wastes found in nature and in our aquarium have particle sizes that vary greatly and depend on stage of decay. To make a solution that would more accurately simulate conditions as found in nature. I used a mixture of peat and compost. I boiled it for several hours, drained the water into a plastic container. This liquid was then simmered to further reduce it until I had a very dark, black brown liquid. 500ml of this organic liquid was added into each of the test tanks
